Friday Photos From Umbria & Tuscany ~ September 4th, 2015
My sister-in-law is here visiting, and since it is her first visit to Italy, we are trying to squeeze in as much as possible to give her a good taste of Italy. So far, we spent a day in Assisi and Santa Maria Degli Angeli exploring in the footsteps of Saint Francis before heading over to Tuscany on Thursday.
We spent a day in Florence walking throughout the city trying to see all the major tourist sights, and had a great time taste testing a number of food specialties in the Central Market for lunch. We stayed in the Hotel Baglioni, which has the most magnificant views of the city you could imagine from its rooftop bar, and since we were in Tuscany, we all shared a bistecca Fiorentina for dinner.
Today we headed off to Chianti, and checked out the litlle town of Castellina in Chianti before heading to Panzano for lunch at Antico Macelleria Cecchini, always a fun experience. This weekend we’ll hang around Umbria, then head off to Venice next week.
The Basilica of San Francisco.
No matter how many times I visit, I never get tired of this sight!
