My grandmother came from Cava di Tirreni near Naples and often made a special occasion dish called 'Struffles' - it was a doughnut mixure I think which was rolled out longways and cut into small half inch pieces which were deep fried - they were then soaked in honey and lemon zest.
I would be grateful if anyone can rememeber such a dish and let me know if I have got the recepie correct
